Role Context
The Railway Engineer will be involved in the design, analysis, and optimization of railway systems within large-scale rail infrastructure. The role sits at the intersection of engineering studies, operational performance, and safety, supporting the development and operation of modern railway networks.
This position requires strong technical expertise, particularly in railway simulation and capacity analysis, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Railway Engineering & Analysis
- Perform railway system studies including capacity analysis, timetabling, and operational simulations
- Analyse rail network performance using specialized simulation tools
- Support the design and optimization of rail infrastructure and operations
- Contribute to feasibility studies, technical assessments, and engineering reports
Software & Technical Modelling
- Use RailSys to model railway operations, traffic flows, and signalling scenarios
- Interpret simulation results and translate them into actionable engineering recommendations
- Support decision-making through data-driven analysis and structured documentation
Project & Stakeholder Support
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Support coordination with international partners and contractors
- Participate in technical meetings and contribute to progress reporting
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree in Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Experience in the railway sector is required
- Prior involvement in rail infrastructure or operations projects is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of railway systems and operations
- Experience with railway simulation and modelling
- Ability to analyse complex systems and propose practical solutions
Software Skills
- RailSys (mandatory)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of additional railway tools is a plus
Languages
- English: professional working proficiency required
- Arabic: strong advantage
