Context
The Senior Civil Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all civil and structural works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and international standards. The role focuses on site inspection, quality control, and compliance throughout construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of civil works including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, roads, and utilities
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
- Review technical documentation (drawings, method statements, Inspection Test Plans – ITPs)
- Monitor contractors’ activities and ensure quality of workmanship
- Inspect formwork, reinforcement (rebar), and concrete pouring activities
- Witness material testing (concrete tests, soil compaction, etc.)
- Identify and report non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Coordinate with QA/QC, engineering, and construction teams
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation traceability
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and site safety procedures
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred)
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of overall experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar position
- Strong experience in civil construction and site inspection
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or building projects
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction practices
- Experience in concrete works, rebar inspection, and finishing works
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with international standards: ACI, ASTM, BS, Eurocodes
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and material testing
- Experience with inspection documentation and reporting tools
- Proficiency in MS Office
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Relevant field certifications (civil inspection, QA/QC, or materials testing)
- HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH)
- Any recognized engineering certification related to construction
Soft Skills

Additional Requirements
- Experience in complex infrastructure environments (roads, utilities, large civil works…)
- Knowledge of HSE standards and construction safety regulations
- Experience in challenging or remote project locations is a plus
- Fluent in English (mandatory)
