Role Overview
For a strategic port and free zone development project in Libya, we are seeking a Senior Port Systems Engineer to oversee the design, integration and performance of port operational systems.
The role focuses on ensuring that all port-related technical systems operate efficiently, safely and in compliance with international maritime and infrastructure standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and integration of port systems, including operational, mechanical and digital infrastructures.
- Oversee the design and implementation of systems related to cargo handling, terminal operations and port utilities.
- Ensure compatibility and coordination between mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Review and validate technical documentation, system specifications and vendor deliverables.
- Support procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of port systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure operational readiness.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction and operations teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or related field).
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience.
- At least 5 years in a similar senior engineering role, preferably within port infrastructure or large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of port operational systems and maritime infrastructure.
- Relevant professional certifications are considered advantageous.
- Experience in complex international project environments is preferred.
