Context
The Site Engineer – Process / Industrial Engineering is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation of process systems and industrial equipment on-site. The role ensures that works are executed according to project specifications, process requirements, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise installation of process systems (piping, valves, equipment, process lines…)
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with P&IDs, PFDs, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate with subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, I&C)
- Monitor site progress and ensure alignment with project schedule
- Verify installation and integration of process equipment and systems
- Assist in planning and sequencing of construction and installation activities
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities (flushing, testing, start-up)
- Identify and report technical issues and site constraints
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and HSE requirements
- Maintain site documentation and progress reports
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering)
- Experience:
- Typically 5 to 10 years of experience
- Experience in a similar site-based role
- Experience in industrial or process-based projects
- Strong exposure to site execution and coordination
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of industrial processes and systems
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and technical drawings
- Knowledge of piping systems, valves, and industrial equipment
- Basic understanding of commissioning and start-up activities
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures
- Basic planning and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Relevant engineering or industrial certifications
- HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH is a plus)
- Basic QA/QC certification
Soft Skills
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Teamwork in multidisciplinary environments
- Problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good organizational skills
Additional Requirements
- Experience in industrial plants or infrastructure with process systems
- Knowledge of process safety and HSE practices
