Context
The Site Engineer – Civil Engineering is responsible for supervising and coordinating civil construction activities on-site to ensure works are executed according to project specifications, drawings, schedule, and safety standards. The role focuses on daily site operations and progress follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities on site
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams
- Monitor progress, productivity, and resource allocation
- Assist in planning and sequencing of construction activities
- Verify site measurements and quantities
- Report progress and issues to project management
- Ensure proper implementation of quality and HSE requirements
- Support inspections, testing, and handover activities
- Maintain site records and documentation
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Experience:
- Typically 5 to 10 years of experience
- Experience in a similar site-based role
- Experience in civil construction projects (infrastructure or buildings)
- Strong site exposure (execution, coordination, supervision)
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of civil construction methods and site practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction and structural drawings
- Basic understanding of planning and scheduling
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures
- Basic knowledge of quantity surveying and measurements
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Relevant civil engineering certifications
- HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH is a plus)
