Context
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manager to lead the electrical engineering delivery of prestigious luxury hospitality developments in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will oversee the design and coordination of High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems, ensuring reliable, resilient, and fully compliant electrical infrastructure that meets Buro Happold’s engineering standards and Saudi regulations.
This role is ideally suited to a Professional Engineer with extensive experience delivering electrical systems for luxury hotels, mega resorts, or complex mixed-use developments within leading engineering consultancies or Tier-1 design firms.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering team responsible for HV, MV, and LV systems throughout all project phases.
- Oversee the design and coordination of power distribution networks, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), applicable utility requirements, and recognized engineering standards.
- Develop robust and resilient electrical power architectures, including synchronized generator plants, critical UPS systems, and redundant power distribution strategies to ensure uninterrupted 5-star hospitality operations.
- Coordinate electrical engineering interfaces with Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, Interior Design, and ICT disciplines.
- Work closely with lighting designers and architectural teams to integrate luxury lighting systems, bespoke fixtures, premium switchgear, and concealed electrical installations.
- Review electrical calculations, load schedules, single-line diagrams, technical reports, shop drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Monitor engineering quality, technical risks, project schedules, and design performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support value engineering initiatives while preserving operational reliability, architectural intent, and luxury hospitality standards.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
- Proven experience managing electrical engineering for luxury hospitality, mega resorts, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
- Strong background within a leading engineering consultancy or Tier-1 multidisciplinary design firm.
- Extensive experience with HV/MV/LV systems, standby power generation, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure.
- Excellent knowledge of international electrical engineering standards and Saudi Arabian regulations.
