Context
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design review, technical coordination, and site verification of electrical systems for major commercial and hospitality developments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local authority requirements.
This role is suited to an engineer with strong experience in electrical building services design and site supervision within the GCC, particularly on complex, high-end developments.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and validate electrical load schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and power distribution designs.
- Perform and review short-circuit studies, protection coordination, and discrimination analysis to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Inspect electrical installations, including cable containment systems, panelboards, switchgear terminations, and lightning protection systems, ensuring full compliance with approved designs and applicable standards.
- Coordinate life safety electrical systems, including emergency power distribution, Central Battery Systems (CBS), and emergency lighting networks.
- Ensure compliance with local Civil Defense regulations and relevant international electrical codes.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and construction issues.
- Review technical submissions, shop drawings, material approvals, and contractor documentation.
- Support construction activities through site inspections, technical clarifications, and quality assurance reviews.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and final project handover activities.
- Identify engineering risks and recommend practical, cost-effective technical solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical engineering for commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Proven experience within Tier-1 engineering consultancies or leading EPC contractors is highly desirable.
- Strong background in electrical design review, site inspections, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Experience delivering projects within the GCC and familiarity with local authority approval processes.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage power distribution systems and building electrical services.
- Proficiency in electrical design analysis software such as Caneco BT and ETAP.
- Experience with lighting calculation and verification using DIALux.
- Strong understanding of protection coordination, discrimination studies, and fault analysis.
- Knowledge of emergency power systems, Central Battery Systems (CBS), and life safety electrical installations.
- Familiarity with lightning protection system design and installation standards.
- Ability to review electrical calculations, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Strong understanding of international electrical standards and GCC regulatory requirements.
