Position Context
As part of major railway infrastructure projects (tramways, metros, regional trains, high-speed lines), we are looking for an Overhead Line (Caténaire) Design Engineer to take part in the design, technical analysis, and production of execution drawings related to overhead contact line (OCL) systems.
The role requires technical expertise in railway electrification, strong AutoCAD skills, and high rigor in applying technical standards and guidelines (SNCF, RATP…).
Main Responsibilities

Produce execution drawings and design documentation for overhead line systems (LAC, HLE, supports, anchors…)

Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and analyze site-specific technical constraints

Develop schematic diagrams, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, and support location plans

Contribute to mechanical dimensioning: sag, tension, mechanical forces

Coordinate with civil engineering, electrical, and signalling teams

Ensure strict compliance with SNCF, RATP, IN150, or other client-specific standards

Write technical reports, calculation notes, summary reports, and as-built documentation (DOE)
Key Skills Required

Strong knowledge of railway overhead line (caténaire) systems

Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)

Familiarity with railway technical standards (SNCF, IN 150…)

Ability to produce precise, clear, and usable technical drawings

Knowledge of civil engineering or GC/Energy interfaces is a plus

Experience with complementary software tools such as GIS, Mensura, MicroStation, Revit is an advantage
Profile Sought

Education: Bac+2 to Bac+5 (equivalent to Associate’s to Master’s degree) in electrical engineering, railway infrastructure, or similar

Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role within the OLE or railway sector

Qualities: Rigor, teamwork, autonomy, and strong analytical skills
