Context:
The Process Engineer supports performance optimization within a modern steel melting shop. The role focuses on improving productivity, product quality, and energy efficiency across EAF and LRF operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize melting parameters in EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) and refining operations in LRF (Ladle Refining Furnace)
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Energy consumption
- Metallic yield
- Steel quality
Reduce:
- Metallic losses
- Additive and ferroalloy consumption
- Perform detailed process data analysis to identify improvement opportunities
- Implement process optimization and performance improvement actions
Collaborate closely with:
- Production teams
- Maintenance teams
- Quality departments
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
Candidate Profile
Engineering degree in: Metallurgy, Process Engineering
Experience: 3 to 8 years in steelmaking (EAF / LRF is mandatory)
- International industrial experience: considered a plus
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
- Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) processes
- Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) operations
Solid understanding of:
- Steel grades and metallurgy
- Metallurgical reactions and refining processes
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and optimize industrial KPIs
