Context
As part of the execution of major infrastructure and construction projects in Saudi Arabia, ProjecTTech is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the technical review, site execution, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems, with proven project execution experience in the Middle East, preferably on hospitality or complex building projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Verify mechanical design calculations, including heat load calculations, hydraulic sizing, and duct static pressure calculations.
- Review and validate mechanical equipment schedules and technical documentation.
- Perform rigorous technical checks of shop drawings, schematics, and builder’s works drawings submitted by trade subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance of mechanical installations with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and contractual requirements.
- Review the sizing and selection of major mechanical equipment, including chillers and air handling units.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical and interface issues.
- Provide technical support during site execution and installation activities.
- Support testing, pre-commissioning, Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB), and full integrated system commissioning activities.
- Identify technical discrepancies and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Contribute to the successful handover of mechanical systems in accordance with project requirements.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical calculations, including heat loads, hydraulic sizing, and duct static pressure.
- Strong expertise in sizing major mechanical plants and equipment, particularly chillers and air handling units.
- Expert ability to review HVAC and plumbing shop drawings, schematics, and builder’s works drawings.
- Solid understanding of mechanical equipment schedules and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience supporting site testing, pre-commissioning, TAB, and integrated commissioning activities.
- Good understanding of construction interfaces and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Knowledge of applicable international mechanical engineering codes and standards.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven project execution experience in the Middle East is mandatory.
- Previous experience on hospitality or complex building projects is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in technical review, site execution, and commissioning support.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, multidisciplinary project environment.
- Availability for an immediate start in Saudi Arabia.
